How can we help?
Short, direct answers about decoding letters, your account, payments and privacy. Can't find it? Email hello@translatemyletter.com.
Getting started
What does TranslateMyLetter do?
It explains an official letter in plain language, in the language you choose. It tells you who sent it, what it says, what you need to do, and your deadline — and drafts a formal reply in the letter's own language for you to review and send.
How do I decode a letter?
Go to the homepage, upload a photo or PDF of your letter (or paste its text), choose the language you want the explanation in, and create a free account. Your first letter is free and the result appears in about a minute.
Which letters, countries and languages work?
Any official or administrative letter from any country: tax offices, immigration, benefits, health insurance, pensions, banks, landlords and debt collectors. The letter's language is detected automatically, and you can get the explanation in 48 listed languages or type any other language.
My letter has several pages. What do I do?
Select up to 4 photos at once, one per page, in order — or upload a single PDF. It counts as one letter.
Can I paste text instead of uploading a photo?
Yes. Below the upload box, choose "Paste it instead" and paste the full letter text. This is useful for letters you received by email.
Your account
Why do I need an account?
So your free letter, credits and subscription are saved to you, not to one browser, and work on any device. It also lets you see your history, receipts and invoices.
I forgot my password.
On the login screen, choose "Forgot your password?", enter your email and open the reset link we send. The link works for one hour. If no email arrives, check spam or write to hello@translatemyletter.com.
How do I change my password or email?
Open My account → Settings. Changing your password signs you out on your other devices.
How do I sign out on a lost phone or shared computer?
My account → Settings → "Sign out on all other devices".
How do I delete my account?
My account → Privacy & data → Delete account. If you have a subscription, cancel it first. Deleting removes your account, remaining credits and history permanently.
Payments & billing
How much does it cost?
Your first letter is free. After that, one letter costs €1.99, or €4.99 per month for unlimited letters (fair use: 30 per day). Prices include VAT. See the pricing page for details.
How do I pay?
By card, PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay through Paddle, our payment provider and merchant of record. We never see your card details.
Where are my receipts and invoices?
Paddle emails a receipt immediately. For all invoices, open My account → Payments & receipts → Open billing page.
How do I cancel my subscription?
My account → Payments & receipts → Open billing page → cancel. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
My payment failed.
You weren't charged. Try another card or PayPal. If a subscription renewal failed, update your card on the billing page.
Can I get a refund?
Unused credits can be refunded within 14 days, and a letter that was decoded but clearly wrong can be refunded within 7 days. See the refund policy and email us.
Privacy & security
Do you store my letters?
No. Each letter is sent securely for analysis and then discarded. We keep only your email, your balance and a short usage summary (date, sender name, number of pages).
Is my letter used to train AI?
No. Letters are analysed through Anthropic's API, and Anthropic does not use API data to train its models.
Who processes my data?
Anthropic (AI analysis), Paddle (payments), Cloudflare (hosting and account storage) and, for password-reset emails, Resend. Details are in the privacy policy.
Can I download my data?
Yes: My account → Privacy & data → Download my data.
Results & accuracy
Is this legal advice?
No. It is an AI-generated explanation and draft reply, similar to asking a bilingual friend. For disputes, refusals, court matters or large debts, get advice from a qualified professional.
How accurate is it?
It is usually accurate for standard official letters, but AI can make mistakes. Always check amounts, dates and reference numbers against your original letter before acting.
It couldn't read my letter.
You weren't charged. Retake the photo in good light, flat, with the whole page in frame and no shadows — or paste the text instead.
How do I add the deadline to my calendar?
When a deadline is found, the result shows "Add deadline to calendar" (a file with a 3-day reminder for any calendar app) and a Google Calendar link.
Can I print or save the result?
Yes — choose "Print / save as PDF" under the result.
